Mount Auburn International Academy’s (MAIA) mission is to provide a high quality preparatory education to students in grades K-12. The goal is to prepare each student intellectually, morally and socially to lead successful careers in college and beyond. As a result of an education at MAIA, students have the ability, discipline and desire to make meaningful contributions to their community, society, and the world.
The MAIA’s staff, students and their families are committed to the college preparatory curriculum. In its first year of operation, MAIA offered educational opportunities to Cincinnati families with students in grades kindergarten through tenth and will add a grade each year. The coursework incorporates the SABIS® educational methodologies, curriculum and assessment system. Information and project mastery is critical and parent involvement a must for true student success. The SABIS® program includes both formal and informal learning activities leading to credits for graduation that are implemented in relation to the planned courses of instruction. The program offerings reflect a dynamic experience with a focus on diversity of cultures including history, lifestyles and patterns of beliefs. Teaching philosophy, efficiency of instruction, hierarchy of subjects, teaching methods (individual as well as group work) combine for an education rich in content and experience.
Students
Serving a predominantly urban student, MAIA believes every child, given the right environment and encouragement, can thrive in a college preparatory environment. Individual student projects as well as group work designed to foster student learning and engage parents is a trademark of this dynamic school environment.
