Open Fall, 2002

The mission of the Lake Erie Academy is to provide an educational community that promotes educational achievement, involvement of parents, and positive social interactions.  The Academy is committed to developing excellence on the part of students, teachers, and administrative staff.

The school is established as a community of learners, wherein students, parents, teachers and support staff work collegially to achieve excellence in education.  By creating a clean, safe, supportive atmosphere for pursuing, meeting and surpassing academic goals, the school provides its students with constructs for integrating their cultures, backgrounds and social milieus unto the greater community.

Conceived in response to the need for a high-quality, disciplined and structured educational environment, Lake Erie Academy provides a significant opportunity to more adequately address many of the broad and diverse learning needs that accompany the youth of today.  By combining the methodology developed by the Direct Instruction® curriculum with several proven teaching and learning strategies drawn from effective research, the school implements an educational program that is student-centered and academically challenging.
