Distance and Electronic Learning Academy (OHDELA)
The primary focus of the Ohio
Distance and Electronic Learning Academy is two-fold: to provide
resources and support to parents who have elected to educate their
children in the home; and to leverage state-of-the-art technology to
support and deliver outstanding curriculum, testing and accountability.
Headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, the school is “parent-led, and teacher
supported.”
Families are provided a variety of
curricular choices – all in alignment with state standards – all
individualized and self-paced with hard copy practice exercises.
Curricular choices include:
 |
Plato’s Wasatch K-8, Plato for
grades 9-12 |
 |
Child U published by publisher
of Weekly Reader series currently serving over 25,000 students in 25
states and 150 schools; offers electronic assessment and reporting |
Each family has an educational
spending plan that covers curricular and technological needs,
standardized testing, educational materials, supplies and services. The
extensive enrollment process includes verification that technology is in
place, functioning, and that the family understands how to use it.
