As a sponsor of community/charter
schools, we are a student-centered organization advocating excellence in
education through strategic partnerships. We are a smooth-running
organization with a high level of coordination and a mind-set toward
efficiency. We are hard-drive, producers and competitors. Reputation and
success are common concerns.
Team commitment to our
organization, our partners and one another is high. We put great
importance on cohesion and morale.
Success is defined in
terms of sensitivity to our schools, educating management organizations,
partners with an overriding concern for impacting education excellence.
The glue that holds the organization together is our commitment to the
kids and our dedication to impacting education through innovation.
Ohio Council of Community Schools,
established in 1999, is a not-for-profit organization responsible for
issuing and overseeing charters for Community Schools throughout Ohio.
These Charters serves as contractual agreements regarding school’s
standards, budgets, and operating principles. We are proven and
experienced, and provide charters to numerous Community Schools across
the state.
When thinking about education, the individual child must come
first; he or she must remain a school’s top priority. Educating our
children is important to us all, because today’s students are tomorrow’s
leaders. Their success is our future. That’s why OCCS embraces each
child in the community. Everyone learns differently. Our Schools offer
the first, and sometimes only, opportunity for many families to choose
the right school for their children therefore everyone benefits.
Many
students thrive with special attention and alternative methods employed
by the schools under our direction. The Ohio Council of Community Schools is dedicated to provide
support for each of its schools in the areas of best practice
instruction and teaching practices, research-based curriculum,
instruction and assessment models, advanced and emerging technologies,
leadership development and parent involvement strategies.
