Choose to learn, learn to
choose
Imagine educational choices and educational chances. Imagine a
teacher who cultivates and fosters the potential of each student.
Imagine a school authorizer who's main interest is focusing on students,
their achievements and partnering to provide responsible options in
public education. Discover
Community Schools, where choices are greater.
The difference can be found in the focus. Community Schools place a
top priority on the individual. Children receive flexible, personalized,
and distinctly different academic opportunities, with programs ranging
from the traditional to those geared toward the arts or specific
vocations, curriculums that may be values based or intended for
children with special needs. Parents enjoy flexible hours – teachers are
available during extended time periods, conferences are scheduled to
accommodate working schedules, and kindergarten programs are often
full-day sessions.
Community Schools
are free, public, and open to all students. And although they offer
flexibility in curriculum, hours, and policies, Community Schools must
still meet the same rigorous standards that govern traditional District
Schools. Yet by deliberate and thoughtful design, Community Schools
are free to meet and respond to the unique needs of each student. This dedication to excellence and commitment to children are
hallmarks of OCCS Community Schools.
